Nice draped bust largie. I bet you can get that number to come out by doing a pencil rubbing of the coin. Congrats!

1700's!!!! that is all that matters.. It is in pretty good shape too, Yours looks like mint state compared to the 2 I have been lucky enough to get..

Jack, thanks! Always leery to clean these oldies... L&J

Nice. Almost looks 1796. But she toasty

Hi Welcome back Lisa! I'm glad to see you're still hunting that amazing property. Nice Draped bust. I find a lot of these and find myself in similar situations with the date. A good telltale is the hair style: yours looks like a style 1, which makes it (likely) a 1796 or 1797. The caveat? There are some known 1798 varieties with that type 1 hair, but odds are it's 1796-1797. Congrats

The joys of living on the east coast is getting finds like this. Amazing find. Wish I could find something like this.

Hey Scrappyyyy! How the heck are ya? Thanks for chiming in. We agree with you about the style one hair. Tempted to try to clean that date up! We look forward to seeing your finds this season. Cheers. -Lisa & John

Thanks, Primus-- lucky, indeed! Wishing you an amazing spring. -L&J

Thanks, H! We agree, it's always a thrill to see coins that start in 17! -L&J

Thanks, NS. Yup, most of these are toasty around here. Still a thrill to find them! -L&J
