Far, far better than finding a 1793 Chain or 1793 Wreath cent, or even both stuck together in the same hole! I have never, ever heard of a '93 Cap being dug up, much less one in presentable condition with a four-digit date. Completely blows my mind as an early copper collector (and fellow digger). What a truly great dig!

When this coin makes the banner, all the other coins on the banner should have their eyes on it and mouths gaping open!

All I can say is YOW !!!

I will also say BANNER !!!

Awesome find

Insane find and banner worthy and day of the week and twice on Sunday.

got my banner vote. unreal find!

If the hogge is right it's listed as "very scarce", but not one of the "rare" varieties. I think there are only two known of the NC example. Regardless of the variety it's an awesome find and definitely banner material!! Don't clean it at all as it looks like parts are about to flake off on the back. I would invest the money to have it professionally restored. I think there's only about 150 of these '93 Caps known and now you've added one more! Congrats!

Did you know it was such a scarce coin when you dug it?

Appears to be Sheldon 13, but I have no other pics of the rarist of the 2 varieties. One is NC-6 and Sheldon 16. Judging from spacing on the date and 3 leaves near the "F".....S-13.Great Find!!

Thanks for the info everyone and congratulations too. This coin was found in upstate New York about halfway between Albany and New York City

This may be one of the rarest coin finds to appear on this forum in a long time - I'm guessing it's a lot more rare than the pine
tree and oak tree coins we've seen this season - can any one recall a 1793 liberty cap posted here before ? ( I know we've seen
some 1793 flowing hairs before)

Oh as far as if I knew that it was worth that much or that rare No I didn't. I was expecting to see a flowing hair or chain the Liberty and that bust threw me off

GKman , Big congrat's on making BANNER !!!!!!!!!! Can somebody please inform me of the current rules regarding banner ?- Is there a
place here where I can read this ? I know there used to be a rule disqualifying a find for banner unless the finder had been a member for
a while - Sorry for spreading some false info there GKman (and anybody else who I may have confused !)

Thanks! . But what are these Banners?
Oh I see now I was using the app for treasurenet and they don't appear the same way as if you look at the full site from aweb browser
