1785 Connecticut Mailed Bust Left, but What Variety?

I found this on Thursday and I've narrowed it down to two varieties but I could use some even more skilled eyes. It's actually in better shape than the photos would suggest, but the patina doesn't give the details much contrast so it's tough to make out certain features without the exact right tilt.

Without a doubt it's a 1785 and there are fortunately very few left-facing varieties. The reverse was fairly easy to nail down, it's type D of which a good example can be seen below:

So that just leaves the obverse. Miller 8 looked very close, but has the colon after the "Connect" so this is a Miller 7. The problem is there are two sub-varieties; the 7.1-D and 7.2-D. Apparently the 7.2 is the same die as 7.1 just with some features cut to be bolder, but I can't seem to nail down what features differentiate. And interestingly my dug coin has prominent edge beading around one side which has survived.

So what do you guys think 7.1 or 7.2?
