The past two weeks I spent four long days detecting in the woods and got skunked. Didn't find anything of note for a lot of effort hiking through hills and swinging. Really discouraged me. So today I went back to a site that has previously given me a 1722 Woods HP, a 1723 KGI HP, and a 1760 Hibernia HP, many buttons, and assorted artifacts. I have hit this area pretty hard, but the Manticore set to 28 sens pulled these deep objects. It's my first French colonial coin. I now have found Spanish, British, Dutch, German, Russian, French, and Chinese coins.

My vintage US Navy button collection continues to grow. Makes sense that my area's whalers, fishermen, and sailors contributed to Navy strength.

Ticks are out. Saw small black deer ticks out in the upper 30s. I'm not using Sawyer's permethrin spray on my boots yet. The ticks come up from the forest floor leaf litter if you stand in one spot for some time. The soft cloth uppers of the Muck Artic Pro boots fool the ticks so they linger on it. Happy to see flocks of wild turkey combing through the leaves. Might get back out tomorrow if the rain holds off.

Surprised that I haven't found any deer antler sheds yet.

Just goes to show persistence & patience pays! Glad you had an outstanding outing after 2 weeks of being skunked.

Couple of nice finds there Eastender. Like you, I have dug colonial era coins from around the globe, but I haven't swung my coil over French one yet. Congrats!

Nice finds ! Envious of the members from out East hunting the oldest sites in the USA

Nice job on the finds. The Manticore does make previously hunted sires new again.
