My buddy and I got a permission to detect a property dating to 1740 which had only been hit a couple of times if that, and who knows when or with what equipment. 3 hours with the Deus and him on the AT Pro and neither of us found a single old coin or much to show for our efforts. One of those days I guess. Either way, I found this handsome pewter brooch. Anyone have any idea on period based on the pattern, or what the pattern design is called? I'm guessing 1790s-1840s. :icon_scratch: IMG_6457.JPG

Nice find. I would guess it's a little more recent than that. Maybe later 1800's. Looks more like copper or brass than pewter.

Looks Victorian turn of the century.

looks like a peacock design, definitely looks to be copper maybe

Nice find for sure, copper, later Victorian I'll say looking at the pin on the back.
