1715 fleet off treasure coast fla

there are a minimum of 2 "missing" vessels of Echeverz's fleet * that are "unaccounted for" according to SALMON'S LETTER TO THE KING OF SPAIN * oct 20th of 1715 --9 vessels where recorded as sank and 2 "gallones" were missing -- from the fleet that Echeverz commanded which was called " the gallones de terra firme" --( the tobacco hauling nao san migeul and the French prize known as "el ciervo".) * Echeverz's fleet was the southerly fleet that went to south America --- the other fleet of ships under "Ubilla's direct command was "the "new spain" fleet --it went to mexico --as senior commander when the 2 fleets "joined up" in Havana for the return trip -- Ubilla was in overall charge of the joint fleet ( all of his fleet and the 2 "major" treasure vessels of Echevrz's fleet that were carrying royal treasure. )

"French prize" eh? Does that mean a French ship captured by the Spanish and pressed into service?

Could it have been lagging behind or turned around and ended up shoaling off of Lantana Beach? Could this ship and Seafarers Lantana Beach site be one and the same?

the key words ARE * SALVAGE PERMIT * --only a salvage permit allows you to remove and sell items * so sure the state will issue(sell you) all the "exploration" permits ya want --sure spend money and do all their "research" for them (you must share all data gathered with the state) but when it comes time for you to haul up the goodies and get paid -- no "salvage permit" will be forthcoming from them --they been stringing out companies for the last 20 years like this by issing "exploration permits" but no" salvage permits" -- like a "tease" date that gets you to spend lots of money on her by whispering sweet nothings in your ear then leaves you hard up as she fails to "deliver".
Very well put Ivan, that really says it all!

Ivan, here is a scenario for you to ponder. A Spanish Pirate ship carrying the spoils transferred from a French prize, that may have been taken to Havana, was stationed just North of West End, Grand Bahama and was scheduled to rendezvous with the 1715 fleet and return to Spain with them. They weathered out the hurricane near the western edge of the Grand Bahama bank.

After the hurricane, they set sail on their own for Spain. After reaching the Gulf Stream, North of Ft. Pierce, they were sighted and engaged by a French ship in a battle that lasted appx. 4 hours driving them Southward. Knowing their fate, they began dumping the Gold overboard to prevent the French from capturing it.

The last, & largest dump was made just North of Ft.Pierce, before they sank. Chests of French Gold in Copper chests may be waiting on the Sea floor for the Salvor who is not dependent on the Magnetometer. Dell

The northern wreck sites seem to be untouched then & off limits now.

It was Echeverz's son Manuel who captained the ship (or one of them) that was never found. No survivors. You can imagine how agonizing not knowing for so long was. It was just because of some flotsam that floated ashore north of St. Augustine that they eventually concluded its fate.

There were many mysteries & miseries akin to today's Flight 370 & the mudslide in WA. Answers never discovered. Bodies never found. The 1715 wrecks were a true human tragedy along with all that lost treasure.

the French prize vessel -- known as "El Ciervo" ("the stag" in English) was a French trading vessel taken off South America for "illegal trading" by Echeverz's pataches , while Echeverz was awaiting treasure to be loaded -- 3 prize vessel in total were taken --a dutch prize vessel known by several different names (Olandsea , San Miguel, Senor de la popa ) a French prize vessel known as "El Ciervo" , and a lesser known "English prize vessel " of a balandra type build -- known as the Mari (galara) -- a galara class vessel named MARI (which was partly owned by lord Hamilton ) this smallish vessel was later siold by Echeverz to UIbilla in Havana Cuba and became part of Ubilla's fleet

Un Shore: no. The wreck off Lantana is not from the 1715 fleet and is not a treasure ship.

since it known of I'm sure someone has checked it out "for treasure--count on it ...

I was basically told by the ranking archie in charge that if I applied using my data along with a university to get a "salvage permit" using funds available from the "govt" ==where the university and state were to get all the recovered items --that my claim as to be the "finder" of what type of vessel the wreck was , and where it came from and the "history of it" would be upheld --and that I could earn money via "book and movie rights' but none of the treasure recovered would be mine * I told them to stick that deal where the sun don't shine and that if they went after it without me getting a "fair deal" I would sue -- I then put forth my info --out into the public via a local newspaper article that spelled things out quite clearly --so they could not try to "take credit" for the very information that I had to share with them while seeking a permit . --- I have been told that due to the location of my site being within Nassau sound (aquatic preserve zone)--that they WILL NEVER issue a permit for that spot --EVER.

That is not right.

it is what it is... right or not.

I am happy to report that the "ranking archie" that "privately" told me that some time ago --is no longer employed by the state of florida.

but it still doesn't change matters a bit

Aquatic preserve zone...All this greenie stuff makes me want to puke.

oh yah , the Nassau Sound "AQUATIC PRESERVE ZONE" where my wreck lies at is clearly labeled on todays sea charts for that area -- ********due to the nature of the shifting sand bottom in this area * DO NOT count on the channel depths marked on these charts to be accurate **** oh and ----the Nov. of 1769 map made by Capt William Fuller "Plan of Amelia Island" that shows the wreck site from 1715 --says basically the same thing.

so I can't have a ?"permit" because its a "protected area " with a constantly shifting loose sand bottom * and I might somehow "disturb" the constantly shifting sand sea floor bottom , however the corp of engineers can pump the same "sea floor bottom" up on the local beaches * as beach renourishment - when I pointed out that the same sand that the corp was pumping onto the beaches most likely had "treasure" in it -- the state's only reply was to "outlaw" metal detecting upon those beach areas.

The state needs a serious attitude adjustment... this kind of crap is what will start another civil war in our country. Government is way to big and out of control.

sent from a potato...
