1710 OLDEST SILVER, IT'S FRENCH ! & live dug VID

Yesterdays digs, hope it still counts, computer froze during vid upload, bla, bla, bla...

Anyway I was re-griding the lead field in the opposite direction of the Aug. 27th hunt. I wasn't there very long before I got one off the top ten list, yep a french Silver. A little bit of a bend in it, but SUPER HAPPY with this find. As well another fathead 6 pence, and three coppers, for a record smashing 101 for the year.

Good luck out there.

Great achievement getting hitting the 100 copper mark then the getting your oldest French silver, and the bull head silver. Now that's a day that will stick in the mind for a while to come, congrats on the great hunt Rick.:icon_thumright:

Wow, your on fire this year!

Wooo! Vive La France!

Awesome finds, Rick!

Rick, you are having a year that will be hard to top! Congrats on the early French silver and a nice George III sixpence.

Doesn,t get any better than that RICK

Did you use your new F75 for that find ?

Seems to be such a unusual find knowing the local area where you live.

Yet I can,t find anything earlier than 1815 here and I live on the oldest road in NORTH AMERICA...

I,m feeling the green eyed monster in me when I watch your awsum video ..hehe.

CONGRATS !!! I,ll see if I can match that find before the summer is done.

Believe me, my friend anything 1700s is hard, but you will find it,

Keep digging, they will come.

Can you imagine the stories that this little coin could tell from its birth place to the numerous hands that it's been in to the untimely seperation of its last owner and itself CONGRATS MY FRIEND YOU ARE TRULY AN ARCHEOLOGICAL HUNTER OF HISTORY JUST AMAZING!!!!!!!! Keep digging and keep posting

Awesome dig... I'd love to even crack into the 1800's... much less something ALMOST in the 1600's!

Also, did you notice this while digging copper #99 for the year? You didn't mention it in the video. :laughing7:Untitled.png

Hey, that's an eyeball find for you! Rick, you gotta turn that one over once you dig it.

Guess I'll have to make sure I watch all Rick's videos because God knows what else he will leave behind for us! :laughing7:

Wow. Those are some good eyes you have there.
Rick I hope you seen that too or at least checked the hole

It could very well be my eyes playing tricks on me! I'm a novice, at best, when it comes to detecting... so hopefully it wasn't something missed by the OP... just thought it was strange that it wasn't mentioned in the video, since it looked like 2 coins in the same hole. I could be (and very well may be) totally wrong that it is a coin!

Also, pause the video at 1:59, when he digs the silver coin.... look in the pile to the top left. That also looks like a coin, but it's so big that I don't think anyone could miss it if it were.

I'm still learning, so I'm trying to really pay attention to the details on these videos, may help me NOT miss something in the future!
