The power company had their heavy equipment out over the last week and were clearing out large trees along the power line. I have found some cool fur trade artifacts in that immediate area and, given that they ripped the ground up good, I figured I better go for a quick scan. I dotted the areas and hit a strong signal on a patch open dirt....I figured it was a ring but when I spotted the silver edge I about fell over! I have always suspected that the fur trade people brought silver coins with them (Northern Michigan) but have just never found one. Any additional info on the coin would be appreciated. :) IMG_20180806_210358.jpgIMG_20180806_210426.jpgIMG_20180806_210411.jpgIMG_20180806_221853.jpgIMG_20180806_222244.jpg

looks like aluminum. token, do you see a date?

hope is real that would be a banner find in my book

Very cool. It's seems that the detail is gone on 1/2 of the coin or is the photo blurry?

Your photos are awfully blurry. But I can make out "Nom * Dom" and right beside that is a branch of some sort. I believe it is a Louis XV of France silver. They were made from 1739-1748. Check out the link and compare yours to the reverse photo.

Great job!!! 🙌 Way to capitalize on an opportunity! 😁

I'm going to need to see the context the coin was extracted from in person to confirm.
I can't be more than 3-4 hours South of you. L.o.l..
