1650's French Copper, and Cool Spot in the Woods

Went out with a young relative, Loaned him a ATP, and away we went.

Lucky him, first coin ever is a French Liard, sorry I never got a good close up, or a pic. of the other side, but it is a tad better than the one I got.

Only other finds were 4 matching crotal bells, probably off the same string, as all were found in a 4 to 5 foot circle. I got one, he got two close together, then I got another.

My pics. aren't usually blurry, but that one is....

Anyway perhaps the best or at least coolest find is this strange place out in almost the middle of nowhere.

Big fireplace on the left side, and a bit of graffiti.

High temp today is below freezing, so that may have been the last. Teary smiley.

Been there many times...it's got quite a history!

I wouldn't mind hearing a bit about it.

BTW we also visited the "acid" or hippy house. I'll assume you know about that one too.

Sent you a PM...yep, Acid house is pretty trippy isn't it? Surprised it's still standing!

Some of it isn't, the "tower" has fallen off.

Great old find at what looks like a really cool spot.

A close up of the Liard.

Other side not so good.

Congrats to your friend on the French liard. Beginner's luck indeed! 4 crotals would be a good day.
