:hello: HI Y'all, I just CANNOT believe it I am pretty Stunned right now :o We went out digging this morning with no real sites

in mind and spent the first couple hours digging some colonial buckles and civil war items....when we decided to go

back to a spot that we have hit before and hit a couple days ago....First 5 minutes I dug a 1898 V-Nickel which is

pretty cool in its own right.......then I came across a signal hitting about +18 to +20 on the MXT and I was

debating on digging it...but as you know that old addage...DIG EVERYTHING...IT REALLY REALLY applies here

where I live because LOTS of Colonial flat buttons and flower buttons hit in that range.....SO, I popped it out and

out popped this little disc about the size of a Half-Reale....I could read the CAROLVS plan as day on it and we were

debating whether it was copper or silver as it was only hitting in the +40s when I got it out....Anyway, its copper

and its very thin and very old.... I was going to post the stuff I found yesterday which consisted of an 1852

Large Cent, a mystery copper that looks to be 1800s with Hindu writing and a wreath and these other items and I

WAS HAPPY WITH THOSE THINGS!!! Which is why this is UNBELIEVEABLE icing on the cake and after just digging that early

1700s French silver 3 days ago....

You are the current King of Foreign Coins Josh (non U.S.). You are on the longest roll of good luck that I have seen (especially for summertime). WTG Buddy and HH, Quindy.

Shoot man, thanks for being such a good friend...You know like me that the real work comes with the research to find a site, after that, it's all chance what you put your coil over....but thanks for the generous compliment my friend

Finally I wake up & see justice :headbang:

Congrats on the Banner find :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: well deserved  Dd60

Banner find!! congrats . :laughing9:

Congrats on Banner , Josh , :headbang: N I C E Rarely see them that old in the USA. Did some reading about Jamestown , man those guys had a rough go of it . In the 1640's everything was valued in tobacco, and this continued the practical currency for the first century. They( not sure who they would be ...colonists :icon_scratch:) imported a lot of copper, however, with which to make small coins for circulation. As the tobacco fluctuated in price in England, it made a very unstable standard of value. Gradually, afterwards, large amounts of gold and silver coin came into Virginia in payment for produce, thus supplanting the tobacco as a standard. :o Large amounts

I would be stunned too. Amazing find! :notworthy:

But is it retroactive to an 1840 token, CT copper, and 1812 belt plate.

All great finds also, whom each got my vote for Banner :icon_thumleft:

Thanks Dawg, yes this was what they used (as you stated) before the gold and silver got here and as I said above in the post, this could've been one of the Jamestown colonists
