Yepper I found it here in Missouri.... now before you treasure hunters have anurisms I dont think it was lost in 1573 here in Missouri lol lol... I got it at a civil war encampment site, also found an 1801 2 reale "very worn", 1853 3 center F +", and a flying eagle cent "destoyed", I think it was a good luck piece or something like that. its an Elizabeth I silver six-pence. hope you like it..jd

You know that coin could have belonged to an Indian. Many Spanish ships frequented the gulf carrying coinage of several countries (pirate ships as well) in the 1600's. The sailors often traded coins(with natives) for food (they probably would have used thier less desirable coinage). There's a legend that when DeSoto went through the Appalachian Mnt's (mid 1500's) he discovered that some of the Cherokees had old Roman coins that they carried in thier flour pots for good luck. How did these get here before DeSoto??? Myth or Fact??
