Hi everyone, Got out to my old favorite park I like to hunt. First run with the 1400 pulled 15 old coins out of a park I pounded. 8 of the coins were found in mini caches. I was hunting with Lance and I decided to go to another area right. We crossed the road and I noticed a strip of grass bordering the road. I figured my as well hit it. Within 5 minutes I dug a hole and found 6 wheat's in it. There were a million pull tabs around also.

About 5 minutes later not more than 10 ft away I dug a 2 silver quarter hole. I first grabbed the standing lib and went back to fill the hole and saw the washington just sitting there. The standing liberty is the worst one I ever dug. I was still able to date it though. It's a 1917 D. All that is left is the D. I was able to tell because they didn't put any stars below the eagle on the back. There wasn't one made in Denver in 16 so it was definitely a 17.

I also found a few nice relics. One with a baseball player on it. I can't make out all the words on it. I don't know who the player is either. Looks like some kind of pin. Found a nice Victorian era button I think with a lady on it. Found a no date buffaloe and a really bad 1891 Indian. The silver looking strip in the second pic is a old peice of
silver that came off of something.

Had a good weekend and hope to keep getting out and going over land with this new coil. This coil will not come off my unit. I don't even need separation with tone i.d on. Man I love the dfx.

Thanks Renegade. I should have posted the back. There is no eagle almost. It's so smooth you can't even hold it without it wanting to run away. I noticed these coins either come out brand new or so worn they aren't worth anything. They are nice coins to find though.

Great finds indeed! I've owned my DFX since December of 2004 and love it! I just bought a 1400 coil but haven't had time to use it. What part of the world are you located?

Thanks David. I am in Pennsylvania. 1400 is a great coil. I have had the dfx going on 5 yrs here soon. I love the unit and wouldn't use anything else.
