Hi everyone, Got out to my old favorite park I like to hunt. First run with the 1400 pulled 15 old coins out of a park I pounded. 8 of the coins were found in mini caches. I was hunting with Lance and I decided to go to another area right. We crossed the road and I noticed a strip of grass bordering the road. I figured my as well hit it. Within 5 minutes I dug a hole and found 6 wheat's in it. There were a million pull tabs around also.

About 5 minutes later not more than 10 ft away I dug a 2 silver quarter hole. I first grabbed the standing lib and went back to fill the hole and saw the washington just sitting there. The standing liberty is the worst one I ever dug. I was still able to date it though. It's a 1917 D. All that is left is the D. I was able to tell because they didn't put any stars below the eagle on the back. There wasn't one made in Denver in 16 so it was definitely a 17.

I also found a few nice relics. One with a baseball player on it. I can't make out all the words on it. I don't know who the player is either. Looks like some kind of pin. Found a nice Victorian era button I think with a lady on it. Found a no date buffaloe and a really bad 1891 Indian. The silver looking strip in the second pic is a old peice of
silver that came off of something.

Had a good weekend and hope to keep getting out and going over land with this new coil. This coil will not come off my unit. I don't even need separation with tone i.d on. Man I love the dfx.

Thanks guys. I make it tough for the next hunters. I dig everything all the time. Technology will basically have to get better for these sites to some what renew themselves. You can still find coins there but it's slow. One old coin a hr unless you hit a lucky missed pocket like I basically did there.

Were talking 400 acres I hunt. I know them like the back of my hand. So I can make these finds while others can't. If there still there now no one was gonna get them. Knowing the land your hunting is a vital key to finding treasure in large area's. I get real familar with the area's that produced better than others.

I know what you are talking about! On this new place I have been hunting there is 300 acres. And I try to visit a new spot everytime I go there....but .....I will have to say that a couple of spots stay in the back of my mind and I usually end up there before I go home for the day!....Especially if I haven't found any keepers! :D

Your finds are awesome! I always look forward to seeing your posts!

;)

Thought you would be out with this nice weather we have been having. It's great too because the parks are empty. :) Looks like your having fun. I love diggin up more than one old coin in a hole. Really gets you pumped. Pretty good assortment you got. It's always interesting to see all the misc stuff you find. We don't find nearly as much "interesting" stuff as you do.

Nate and I had fun over the weekend too. Found 3 mercs at a park we thought was pretty picked over.

Yeah, I'm going to have to get one of those 1400DD coils.

Thanks guys. You knrew I'd be out huh Bob. We live close enough that the weather is very similar. Hunting the parks right now is good. No one around. I dig everything to make sure nothing is missed. That's how most relics are found. I know the v.d.i really well. I concentrate on numbers that don't hit the pull tab. I dig hits like 27 28 29 35 37 39....

You guys are building up alot of equiptment. You would like the 1400. You my as well add it to the collection. You guys are out enough and doing fairly well. It would add some more treasure to the chest.

Keep saving civilman. It will be well worth it.

Thanks again everyone

Nice stuff! Just wondering on the 2nd picture the bottom piece, does it say Reiss & Brady? Or does it say Cresca anywhere on it? I noticed some advertising stuff that dates pre-1920 with the Reiss & Brady name on it, but it is either tongs or a bottle opener and that kind of looks like a button hook, but the right side is cut off on my screen so not sure. :) Sorry I love research stuff just had to ask.

That is an excellent assortment of Relics and coins ,all kinds of stuff ! Very nice........Seeker

Thanks guys. You are exactly right Land. That is what it says. I think it is some type of tool used for sewing. It looked old and anything that you find in this park is basically really old. You find more old coins than new in this park. I got 9 old coins to 3 new one's last hunt. That's the way I like it though.

Thanks for giving me some info on the co. I tried to look it up and wasn't getting any hits. That is the only words on it though.

A little late Jeremy,,, but them are some great finds, WTG!!!
The forum is getting harder for me to keep up with. I'm going to have to break down and get some glasses... ::)
Good luck, & Happy hunting~

Very nice finds, congrats on the oldies and silver! HH, Mike

Nice work Jer. This is the kind of stuff I should be finding at the old park I have been hunting but so far just junk! All the deep stuff is big hunks of iron from old superstructure. Oh well, are you sure you haven't been down here in my park? ;) Monty

Thanks Guys. Monty how old is the park and how are they set up. The parks I hunt are from the late 1800's and are large in size. I like to hunt the woods off the paths in them. That's were all the untouched goodies are most of the time. Check those woods and walk them deep. It's a good way to uncover more things. Go to your oldest largest one's around. Go to the woods and dig every signal until you hit something.

Good Luck

HH Jer
