Hello all,,,
Went to one of the older local parks today, for a change, and only found (13) cents. One dime and three pennies. So, I stopped by the place I call the Indian Graveyard to dig some pull-tab signals. Back when I hunted this site I found over (25) IH's, but I never dug too many pull-tab signals... The first tab signal I hit produced this 14KSP Nugget Ring. I couldn't believe it... It was giving a square-tab signal and was only about 3" to 4" inches down. I'll be going back to dig some more soon...

Sure was a thrill to see when I saw it,,, lol...
Ain't this a pretty site?

Anyone have a clue as to what the "SP" stands for? Is it worth anything?
Hope ya all have had some luck, & Happy hunting~

I believe 14ktsp would indicate the object is 14kt gold plated sterling silver.

I personally think that it's a 14K gold ring and the SP is the co. that produced it. If it were gold plated silver it would most likely be stamped .925 or .925 GP.

Sweet ring Leon! Congrats on the gold!

That's a gold one, not plated. It could be either one of the 2 post above on the SP. I f it was plated silver it would show .925 14k HGP, GP, EP, etc. If it was gold on silver, say a different design in gold it would read .925 14K. You found a good one. Congrats!

That's one sweet ring, a real beauty, congrats big time!!

Smiles!

straight plumb........i vote as well

You're on a roll, Leon!

KP stands for karat plumb. SP probably stands for plumb as well. It looks solid to me!

Congratulations! That's a big one!

Go have it tested, it looks goos for being buried, but SP, means "signature plating". But, like I said, it looks good for being buried.
Here's a link you can check.

I go along with Finerzzs, get it tested, and let us know what you find out. One way or the other. We all want to know what SP stands for. I for one think it's a pretty nice ring, for being buried in the ground. It sure looks Gold To Me!!!

Thanks a bunch all,,,
And thanks for all the info. I think I'll hang onto this one until I can get it checked out. I usually give a lot of my rings away to some of the neighborhood kids. I don't wear rings myself and they always seem to like them...

If I can get somewhere to have it checked, or find out exactly what the "SP" stands for, I'll be sure to give an update...
Good luck all, & Happy hunting~

Nice ring and I agree with finderzzs that the SP means Signature Plating

too bad I didnt live in ur neighborhood, My kids & I love rings and would take all that you give away ;)
