Hi gang,
Found this digging at an old swimming pool area. I have found two gold and one silver in the grassy area that is left and lots of clad. Now just tons of dimes and pennies left.
The star really shines nice in bright daylight.

It came up as a 16 on my Whites M6 at 3" in clay soil.

Notice the resize mark on the back of the ring. It is higher carat gold but so little I am sure a refinery wouldn't give me any more than straight gold.

that's a sweet find. a refinery 'should' melt or chemically dissolve a ring, separating the gold from the other alloys, turning all gold present pure. So, a mix of karats should not matter

12 k (50% gold) is normally found in older jewelry stuff (1900 or earlier era) post 1900 10 K for poorer and 14k for richer folks tended to be the norm --12 k just sort of fell out of fashion.--12 k GF (gold filled was quite common on the early 1900 -1930 era)

Very nice ring! I love the gem!

Super find! Those star sapphires really catch the light in a unique way.

All the best,

Lanny

How you get well soon Ivan. The state of Florida should be ashamed for the way they have treated your discovery.
