My buddy took me to a new union camp site permission where he recently dug 27 bullets in one hunt.
My personal record is about 23, I think .
Was hoping to gets some bullets and brass today, but it was strictly a lead day.
We started out strong digging drops and pulled Minnie’s and Williams cleaners.
In the beginning I had one hole with 4 in it which was exciting. Decided to go to the truck and get a sip of water and unload the pouch. Counted 31 at this point.
So I head back out and decide to try another area. Didn’t take long and I was back on em. Then I get a hole with 8 in it. I noticed some of these bullets still had the powder in the base Didn’t think it could get much better. Not long after that I get another hole with a solid mass of bullets in it. I’m thinking probably another 8 or 10. After about 30 I decide to call my buddy over to show him and let him dig some. We ended up getting 120 out of that hole. Also found several pieces of wood in the hole. There was also some paper with powder and primers, but most of it was disintegrated. We laid all the bullets out on the tailgate from the one hole. I noticed at least 6 Williams cleaners in the pile. I split the 120 bullets with him since he helped me dig the hole, and it was his permission. I didn’t find any nails or hinges, but I’m thinking we dug part of an ammo crate. Got a lot of cleaning to do.

The tailgate photo is the 120 from the one hole.
The other photo is the other 49 I dug today.
