100 years apart

Had an hour to hunt an 1830's house. Front yielded a nice 1893 Indian Head Penny. Only other coin hit was a 1993 Lincoln Memorial. No complaints here. It was fun to get out again. IH Penny was at 4.5" and is seen in the attached photo.

All finds found with a Whites XLT.

Whats really amazing is that the one that is a 100 years older is the better looking of the two...

Leon, you're right, they literally don't make them like they use to. Of course, the progression is to use cheaper materials. The IH has full liberty lettering on the headress, which is cool.

Stoney56, This guy wasn't alone, I did pick up a couple of other IH's from this site. But I still hope for more.

Rvbvetter, yeah, old Lincoln is facing the right unlike the rest of the coinage. I guess he looked at things differently.

JARMAN, Hoping for silver indeed. I haven't got any silver yet this year.

Brink, It does add up, the site has been good to me. Hate to leave it. Landowner has just pointed out some more areas of interest that I haven't hit yet.

I wish more people would post pictures of their divet so I can learn how to do it the right way!!! You should see my lawn -- looks like it got shot up with some large caliber rounds... Wife isn't too happy about that!
