Yes only 100,000 dollar is illigal.. But how about those 10,000 5,000 1,000 500 and 10 dollar gold certificates.. I think those are not mentioned as illigal..

Series of 1928

These were released in denominations of $10, $20, $50, $100, $500, $1,000, $5,000, and $10,000. Most of these notes command high premiums. The $500 and $1,000 notes are seldom seen, and examples of the $5,000 and $10,000 notes remain elusive, the blurry pictures shown here being the only ones available. Only the obverses are shown, as the reverses of these notes are the same as the other type notes.

I am with the sell it now crowd. It would be an interesting story to find out how the bills came to be where they are. I understand there was lots of Japanese treasure buried in the Philippines and that many of the Japanese soldiers came back after the war to look for it.

Interesting thread.

Hi Farbeyound, how will you trade?

View attachment 911191

You're going to need that note to buy a loaf of bread in a few years, or used at TP, whichever the paper will be of better use at the current time. Heck, we'll all be carrying 1 Billion notes someday if this country doesn't turn away from the spending. Yes, I know it's fake but looks pretty good to me. Hey, if you ever want to get a good laugh, go to a store where a young pot head is working and ask if they accept federal reserve notes and watch the smoke come from their ears as they are trying to figure out what you're talking about. Quite funny sometimes.

farbeyond,
A belated Welcome to Treasure Net !!
If you can post pics (both sides) of those various bills it would be very helpful.
Don.......
PS: I've seen up close many of the $10,000 bills. Back in the day, 100 of them ($1M) were in a presentation case at Binion's Horseshoe Casino in Las Vegas--when I worked in that town--but you wont see that employment on my resume--for some reason.

I don't understand why the poor neighbor hasn't unloaded the bills by now. If you have access to the Internet you should probably be able to do en

[h=2]"This content is currently unavailable" Great pics. Those are the super rare top secret "invisible" bills they came out with during the war. Pilots carried them in case they got shot down and they were invisible so the enemy wouldn't steal them and spend it on cheap women & expensive booze.[/h]

Present the bait and wait for the bites; set the hook; and reel them in..........I think you're a heckuva fisherman, OP

Still waitin on them pics myself. Crickets are chirping.

:icon_thumleft: Just Don't offer them for sale here.

I understand that they destroyed most of the notes. I do find it very convenient that they claim to have in their possession all of the "surviving" examples of the 42,000 $100k notes that were printed, thus by default they can claim that owning one is now illegal because they say they have them all. Yes, very convenient and predictable.
