me and the kiddo hit some playgrounds at schools and apartment complexes for a total of just over an hour of hunt time the past couple days and this is what we produced---didnt include the trash that we deposited in the trash bin on the way out had a few other things that are not in the pic as dont know where they went for sure--think might be lost in the trunk somewhere---but he is off to a good start just under 5.00 and his goal is 100.00 in clad by the end of summer (officially ends July 31st) well at least in his mind--he wants to spend it b4 school starts--i'll probably have that amt spent in batteries by then--but hey it is fun to do and i love watching his eyes light up when he finds a wheatie----found a 1950 today the other day he found a 1956 quarter---tried to pull a fast one on me today he got a hit at the one playground --dug for a few seconds and hollers that he found a IH penny---so I gotta say many thanks to all of your posts and info on what ya find as he is learning alot from this site - he is dying to find a coin pre 1900- gotta get him outta the playgrounds to find them though-

Nice totals there for a couple of hours you guys! ?Hope you keep it up all summer and knock down $100 by end of June. ?You'll probably break the century barrier before I will, ?I'm about $150.00 in right now and my oldest coin is only a 1923. ?Good luck~CO2 ;D

Ain't nothing better than spending time with your kids! They will grow to appreciate it later on............

Great finds as well! Keep on digging! And wish the son well on his goal!

That's a nice chunk of change there! Pretty soon you'll have to ask for his advise. LOL HH to ya both and best of luck on your goal!

There is something to be said about the clads. Save um up. They add up quickly, use this money to purchase detecting books, rechargeable batteries like Bigrig40 said or anything else in your TH'ing arsenal. ?If you hold on long enough you can even put it toward upgrades your detector etc... ? :o I for one know my wife is less likely to get upset with my purchases, if I'm using the clads I've found ;D

Nice hunt and great quality time. Batteries would kill me here in Europe if I didn't use rechargables. I use the Duracell rechargeable AA 2100 Mha and they work well. HH, Mike

There is a lot to be said for the influence of a father. He will always remember the time that you took to show him the ropes in a fun and rewarding hobby. Good job to the both of you! A father and son team.
