10+ Gram Silver Nazi Ring

After looking into this more per DocBeav's suggestion, the symbols on the ring appear to be ancient Norse runes that were later repurposed by the Nazis. This is more likely to be a Viking ring than a Nazi ring.

Hey everyone,

Got out for some digging today. Managed a little permission that didn't turn up much. Found a dateless buff outside an apartment complex.

I rounded out the day by returning to a little site where I found a tax token and an old Jefferson last month.

Hadn't been there 3 minutes when I pull this big chunky ring at 1.5 inches. I send it to my brother and Echoplex and E points out it had a swastika and "SS" on the sides. This thing is heavy.

What is this doing here? No clue but it's a big men's ring and it's well worn.



All in all a pretty interesting, albeit creepy find.

Pretty cool ring! I think both of those symbols are viking runs that the Nazis subverted for their purposes. The swastika looks sideways compared to the Nazi one. Any marks inside?

Very interesting. That could well be if this predates that period. Hard to know and no, unfortunately no symbols inside :/

This makes more sense as it was found in an area of Seattle that is heavily populated by people of Norwegian descent.

Good thing it’s silver because I’m pretty sure this is a pretty modern “biker” ring. The style of swastika and runes are differfnt than the SS used. I’ve seen simmilar worn by some of the roudy MCs for shock value. Cool Find!

Post Script- any German WW2 era stuff like this would have an “RZM” makers mark. Original SS rings are one of the most commonly counterfitted items of nazi militaria.

It says these were made of 83.5% silver and are indeed WWII-Era. Pretty interesting, it was likely brought back to the USA after the war.

No it wasn't. Silver content may be there but these were first produced in Taiwan and marketed by a company known as Delta International in California as early as the 1960's and still, people get stuck with them for good money.
