In the albert book's photo of GI-80 )which matches up with the posted button), the arrows are on the left side of the button as seen by the viewer. (Or, from the eagle's viewpoint, the arrows are in his right talons.)
OK thanks. Sounds like you had the ID all along. Its getting late and all this left/right stuff is getting me confused lol and I dont think im helping..

CBG had correct ID :icon_thumright: Sorry about the left/right issue :tard: :D

Here's a pic of eagle facing left GI 80 (not same backmark as found buttons):

Green check please
Thanks for the pic. Somemes I try to overthink and I apologize to windage for thinking he had left/right mixed up. I guess I thought arrows were always left talon but they could be ether side.

I believe the head should always point toward the olive branch but it seems the Staff Officer muffin type buttons are an exception or possibly manufacturers error but this could use a thread of its own to figure it out.

Example below on Goodwins patent button eagle facing arrows.

I think the eagles head is supposed to always point toward the olive branch. It may not matter what talon (right or left) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Seal_of_the_United_States

Its open for discussion of course because I may be wrong.. :D

As far as the head on a swivei, I guess thats OK.

The Dorsett seal in above link is interesting :icon_thumright:
Yes an interesting never used die. I need to reread the Snopes link when I have time. http://www.snopes.com/history/american/turnhead.asp
