I would be looking around that area to see if one part of the field has numerous bricks, ceramic shards, black bottle glass things like that that indicate a dwelling or at least a burn pile. It's in areas like that you can find everything from colonial silver coins even some older Spanish, Civil War era bullets like Minnie balls,musket balls, brass and pewter buttons..ect...ect..
