Here are some more things I found today from an old army camp in use during the Mexican Revolution/World War I. Two .30-06 casings, one from 1908 and the other from 1913, a 3rd 30-06 is at the left, and is from WW2. Also found two .45 casings from 1913 and 1915, an intact .45 bullet, and an...
These are some old buttons my grandfather collected a long time ago. I dont know where any of them came from, although I suspect at least some of them he found here in Arizona and New Mexico, where he used to do a lot of bottle digging and stuff. He also had a few metal detectors, which had to...
A few years ago, while visiting with some friends in rural Cochise County, AZ, we checked out this old abandoned farmhouse and scattered in the front yard was somebody's little collection of relics, including these arrowheads, pottery sherds, a 1938 date nail (not seen in photos) and the two...
These are my best garage and shed finds. The Patton sword I found in my Grandmother's garage when I was a teenager and the sword bayonet in my friend's grandfather's shed/workshop. He didnt know or care what it was, so he gave it to me. Both have two dates on them. The sword says 1912 on one...
Found these date nails today and some other interesting stuff at the same place, right alongside a rural ranch road in southern Pima County, AZ. Anyway, there is a barbed wire fence running alongside the road, and in this wash they were using some old railroad ties for strong, sturdy fence...

Just wanted to share this photo of a big rattlesnake trapped in an old well, about 20 feet down. I was standing right next to the well, extracting a date nail from an old railroad tie, when I looked down and saw this. When the rains come in a few weeks, these monsters will be all over the place.
Here are some relics from WW1 era army camps. I was wondering if anybody recognizes any of the metal stuff. The large thing is a part of a pair of army binoculars I think, and the piece at the bottom is a chunk of led found at an old army firing range from the 1910s. The little porcelain dog and...
Found these the other day in a construction site near my home, where there are soon to be a bunch of more houses. They have already excavated these sites and will be building over them. Inevitably, artifacts like these are left behind to be destroyed by modern construction.
This is an old miner's first aid kit from the Mine Safety Appliances Company. Its the kind that would hang on the wall in a mine. I found it in the local garbage dump when I was a kid, and have had it ever since. I think its from the 1930s or so. There are not dates on any of the paper stuff...
This is one of my great grandfathers Grand Army of the Republic medal. He was from Germany, originally, pioneered Wisconsin and Nebraska areas I think it was, and then later fought in the Civil War in Louisiana. After the war he was sent to the Mexican border in Texas and was there when the...

These are my date nails, the ones in the box are from the railroads: Southern Pacific, El Paso & Southwestern and possibly one or two others, but Im not sure. As you all can see, I have different varieties, so I wanted to know if this means anything. If certain railroads used certain types of...
Hello, I found this nice projectile point near an old earthen water tank on my grandparents property in Southeastern Arizona, years ago. According to this Arizona projectile point identification guide found here http://www.projectilepoints.net/Points/Meserve.html, this is a "Meserve" type point...

Found this on an Arizona ranch that goes back to the 1860s/1870s. Can anyone identify it? There is no headstamp and no primer cup, or whatever that thing in the middle is. Its all solid, with a small dent in the center from the firing pin.
This is some stuff from an old Army/Airforce firing range from the 1940s and 1950s. Does anyone recognize what any of this stuff is? I found all of this stuff in an area where the Army was training men to use the 20 mm anti-aircraft gun (cannon), as Ive found a fired 20 mm shell and several...
Hello everyone. Today I have this old casing, which to me looks like its an all brass shotgun shell or possible a rifle casing. I have no idea. There are no markings on it, which tells me its early, and it was found along the edge of a small wash out in the desert near Tucson, Arizona. If anyone...
Hello, does anyone know when this SILCO Army fork comes from? I found it on an old Army firing range from the 1940s and 1950s. It is a little unusual, at least to me, in that it does not say "U.S." on the handle like most of them do, but instead says "SILCO STAINLESS. U.S." on the back. I guess...
Found this old .30.06 round in an old army campsite from the Mexican Revolution/World War I.
According to this thing I found online (cant remember where), the casings with the line around the top, near the mouth of the casing, means that it was a blank round used for training purposes. And...
Found this along an old railroad, built by El Paso & Southwestern c.1900 and later owned by Southern Pacific from 1924 to the 1990s. Does anyone know how old this thing might be? I have seen photos of a few others just like it or very similar online, but have found nothing concerning its age...
Found this old Krag rifle casing here that says "REM-UMC 30 USA", in Cochise County, AZ, not far from Fort Huachuca. From what I have read, the "USA" stands for "United States Army". I guess there is also a "REM-UMC 30 USG" headstamp, which stands for "United States Government". What I want to...
Found this in the shed of an old abandoned house in southern, Pima County, Arizona.
On the bottom it says its for a 37 mm cannon, which I guess was a very commonly used weapon in World War II. It also says "F.A. 1942", which I assume stands for Frankford Arsenal and obviously the date of...
This is an old 45-60 casing I found at the mouth of a canyon in Southern AZ sometime back. Based on the headstamp, this size of round was developed for the 1876 Winchester Centennial model, but was that the only weapon it was used in? And what about the headstamp? Can anyone put a date range on...
Hello again, I found this old "F A 7 03" military rifle casing on the side of the road in Cochise County, AZ, a few years ago. What weapon(s) was this thing for?
Unfired 30.06 round for comparison.
I have a bunch of old ammo here for you all today, most of which does not have any headstamps, which makes me believe they are very old. I am hoping someone here can help identity them for me, and possible give me a date range as to when they were made. Im going to start with a photo of two old...
Found this casing, which says F N for Belgium I guess, with 1909 underneath of it, along with the unfired WRA Co. .30.06 round from 1918. Does anyone know what this bullet was fired from? Since I found this other military bullet nearby, I was thinking it could be military. Im sure the 1909 is...
Hello, I have an old .45 casing from the Frankford Arsenal that is dated January 1912. I know the US military began using the M1911 around this time and was wondering if anybody knows if the US military was using .45 rounds like this before the M1911 entered service.
Thank you.
Hello, found this UMC .44-40 casing on an Arizona ranch. Does anybody know when it dates to? I know this size of bullet was first introduced in 1873, according to what I read on wikipedia, and the Remington and UMC eventually merged. I know its old, and I am mainly interested in knowing when UMC...
Found this old button. From what I've found online, this type of button has been in use since 1903. The back says "Waterbury Button Co. * Conn. *" and according to some folks online this same exact button was in use during World War I, while others say World War II (Who knows, maybe it was used...
Found this old rimfire bullet casing on an Arizona ranch. Im not sure what it is, but I think in might be from a Spencer carbine from around the time of the Civil War? Can anyone confirm this? The old minnie ball is just there for comparison.
If anybody needs me to upload some better photos...
I found this old button with an eagle head on it along the San Pedro River, not too far from Fort Huachuca, Arizona.
Can anyone identify it for me? I think its military, but I dont know. Maybe from the World War 2 era?
Someone else here on Treasurenet has found one as well, here is the...
Here is an old token I found in Nogales AZ, along the border. Its from the Army, which was stationed in Nogales throughout the Mexican revolutions of the 1910s and 1920s.
All I know is that it must be rare, because Ive tried to find info on it, like I have for other tokens I have, but couldnt...
