The top says "APEX" and the bottom says "license notice inside" - made of Copper
I found this at an excavation site, it was cleared and there were piles of dirt all over the acreage. I washed this up and was wondering if any one knew or found one of these. Does it have to do with placing a...

"Researches from The Cambridge University have developed a method for making a strong, lightweight electrical cable out of a form of carbon; a product...
I try not to dig any zinc signals, but today I found something out. I was testing different coins to see what the show up with on my metal detector and discovered that all small cents that are from before 1943 will show up as zinc pennys. It all depends on where you are, so if you are at a 1980s...
So I have found what I think is a pretty good bunch of Quartz with lots of minerals and ore in it. I am sending samples off to be analyzed, but it looks like everything from pyrite to copper, to silver and gold. I am in the process of crushing it, but am not sure what to do next. So far I have 5...
Just got my membership to the GPAA, and found out there is a mine that is less than 10 minutes from my house that I now have access to, how cool is that. The area was a pretty good gold bearing area, but it looks like I will be doing a lot of dry washing. I am new to prospecting in general and...
Can anyone recommend a decent Assayer? I live in Montana. I am a newbie and have no plans to be a full time prospector, but do want to spend a fair amount of time in the field. I have found some promising looking quartz in an area I plan to work. It looks to me to have pyrite, copper, and...
What treasure does this quartz contain? I think I see Pyrite, copper, gold, and perhaps silver. There is more where this came from, a lot more, is it worth prospecting?
I read about this sponge has potential in catching fine gold, I don't know anything more than whats in the patent as far as where to get it but it seems a few of these sponges lined up could have some small time miner applications. I think BASF used to may still make it? Hope this is...

I got a Minelab CTX-3030 a few weeks back. I haven't had a lot of detecting time lately but the last few Sunday mornings had been spent getting used to the detector and finding the right settings.
Last weekend I came across an old cellar hole and I went back to the area again this weekend...
Halves and Cents hunt gets Silver and Copper
Just ran to a few banks and grabbed $25 in pennies and $240 in halves. I will post results when I am finished. HH!
Wow, pretty impressed with these results. 5 %40ers from the $240 in halves. A 1966 and 4x 1967. A nice little haul of copper to...
So I went metal detecting in Rockville, CT alongside my fathers house and dug up this ball about 1 foot deep in the ground. Could it be a cannon shot? Or just some farm equipment from the 1800's. Either way, I am stumped on this one.
