Naturallly Occuring Formation OR Manmade Treasure Marker/Sign?

P7190076.JPGThe high summer grounds.

You get much more snow the last couple of days?
How much longer 'till it gets like your pic in this cool spring...

We just received about another 6" over night the rivers are full, breaking records for amount of precipitation already this month will not be in high country tell July. This damn weather is screwing up my treasure hunting need to make peace offering to mother nature lol.1521911_630633196997215_954289360_n.jpg

One thing about that kind of weather. You can see if someone else is in that area. Works both way though. It's hot here already. Hope it's not a sign. Cold in the north meets hot in the south makes big storms in between. How much time during the year do you get to hunt?

Mountain time is usually July if you are lucky to October but during July and first of August is the monsoon seasons and it can flash flood hail and snow at any time it is a lot of fun keeps you on your toes.

I think Mother Nature's either messing with, or hindering a lot of us this year,
with all kinds of different severe weather from record rains & snows, storms,
floods, tornadoes, late frosts & freezes... May we all totally enjoy the good
days & be thankful. Some have lost all they had, & even their lives too...

I hope you get a nice warm Chinook wind, to dry it all up enough to be
awesome, for all of your hiking & hunting, & water where you need it.

You got that right on...
Looks like it may be a heavy storm year too.
But I hope the atmospheric conditions will change, & mellow out.

That looks like it may be a summer rain cloud shaping up
in the distance. Are all of the dead trees from drought?

Its beetle kill and its bad you got to have your head on a swivel in that timber if the wind comes up its deadly that photo is from last year in July.064.JPGHere is a photo of how bad that beetle kill is one good lighting bolt and poof it would really clear it out.And if you look close you might see a little something something what. LOL

That's cool, water falls next to your rock... hide away...lol.
Very interesting looking area, think I see carving & entrance...

One summer there were 3 of us & a guide, riding horses above the
old William Cody hunting lodge, on a trail riding beside Shoshone R.
canyon through the mountain. Took the upper trail, winding on high
above the river & canyon, slowly twisting toward the mountain ridge.

Tracking q grizzly, far up the trail & high enough to view the Yellowstone
valley back toward Cody, we approached a pass in an area with a lot of the
same kind of dead pines. They were pretty good sized, & the summer wind
came gusting down the pass, off & on, suddenly cracking, breaking off trees
falling over & down toward the trail we were on. Here & there, some by two's,
only about 30-40 yds. up from us. The wind coming & going quickly by surprise.

The horses freaked out, reared up a bit dancing around, & throwing their heads
around wildly, turned around to take off running back down the mountain's very
steep trail we just walked them up. They were a little hard to hold, but we'd all
stayed on them. So I understand what you mean about the wind breaking them.

We waited a few minutes to see if it was ok to continue, & had to go back down.
I don't really want to know, or see what occurs from a lightning strike with wind.
Understood, what you mean about keeping your head on a swivel, it's dangerous.
