They shut down our boat landing so fishing is out. Went back to the old reliable colonial site we have been working for over a year. The Equinox 800 continues to pull artifacts from areas that have been hit hard. Thanks for looking, good luck to everyone.

My best find this week has been this 1783 Irish Half Penny, although they didn't make them that year. It is a contemporary counterfeit. The reverse isn't aligned with the obverse which is another indication. I zoomed in on the 83.

Also found a nice military cuff button. This one is from early 1800's leading up to war of 1812, its a 1st Regiment Artillery, (Alberts AY 23 Bv). Seems to be a little off center.

Found another sliver of a military button and somehow Lost Signal was able to ID it for me as War 1812 Infantry (Alberts GI 40 B)

Found some other interesting items, several buttons, a thimble and some yet to be identified fragments.

Even fake it's interesting, Congratulations!

Thanks Tuberale, when I figured it out I realized the fakes are pretty collectible. A real one from the last year they made them is worth about $20. The counterfeit is worth about $175. i was pretty fired up.

That’s a nice counterfeit

Killer Relic hunt! :notworthy:

And shes a beauty counterfit or not cool find Stay safe

I get excited about finding old coppers, but I don't think I would have bothered to look up the date, and would never have known that it was counterfeit.

You got a bunch of nice finds there! Thanks for the education about your counterfeit coin. Very interesting stuff.
