Couldn't Stop Shakin!
Shakin my head at how all my latest ideas were failing in one way or another.
Everything from my aerial not showing how high the elevation of the fields were, and how low it would be near the water, to a place I've actually been before, to sites being on National park land, to some that out right just could not be found, & lastly, and I kid you not, property owned by my detecting bud's brother-in-law.... and he certainly wasn't going to give that up to us!
(we didn't say who we were) The good news is (for me) is that I'll probably get there this week with Claddy and Ironhorse (we rarely all get together anymore), but the bad news of course was it did not help Romeo and I on a day we were driving in circles trying to get something good going. That being said, both of us know that tends to be the nature of scouting for a good new site, it's often make it or break it.
On the positive side it was good to see Romeo, and a Romeo that was back detecting like a normal human
(reference being made to the last Spring hunt of course) Actually the plan was for both of us to fill our boots with top shelf stuff but as everyone knows detecting doesn't often go to plan. I did not get the super keeper I was looking for but did find two new small sites, dug during the two days was... 13 coins, 49 buttons, musket balls, buckles, etc.... certainly enough to believe I had a chance at a great find, so even though I'm not over the moon I'm content with the shot I had. This hunt sure did knock off many ideas I had, but Ironhorse gets home this week, the Patriot over for a few digs soon, so maybe something real good is yet to come!
