Found an old gold ring with only one marking inside it.

To me it looks like a slash and the 147 , hope that some of you might share your jewelry knowledge, Thanks in advance !

To read more about the ring and its story see this link!

No one, knows anything about \147 ???

Maybe that is not a 7 and we have 14K?

I did use a scratch / acid test kit last night on the ring. Tested out as 14K, so maybe you are right , still no clue why it looks like a 7 tho here =)

Maybe its a size 7 ring? I know I have a couple Sterling rings that has the size in them

Thats correct.... 14k size 7... or its could be a "style" number... jewelry "design" number.. etc.
Test for karat... and measure for size...to tell

Sorry took me a while to get back here when they sized my ring up they made it out as size 7 I believe. Think you guys are all dead on for 147 meaning 14k size 7.

Thanks for all the replies too !!

I've learned something today. Thanks guys! :occasion14:
