That's neat! I suppose antler would be very tough to work with, from what I've heard about it.

That is some nice craftsmanship on the casing pen - I'm curious about the clip, created from?

Antler is more difficult than a wood pen when turning it round. Antler is very hard surface. The smell is very rough also. Plus need a good respirator due to the antler dust being rough on the lungs. Here is an example of one of my antler pens I made for a customer last year.

I buy my pen parts from different wood stores in the Dallas area. The clip is a standard slimline clip in copper plating. If you would like more details on this, send me an email or pm.

Looks like you do a real nice job on them. :icon_thumright:

Besides pens, I turn the occasional razor...

Just finished wiring my new tiny shop. First batch of pens turned in it.

I make ink pens out of wood, acrylic, antler & even used rifle casings. This pen is made out of two used .308 rifle casings. Pen uses a standard cross type refill. This hobby pays for my metal detecting hobby.

Nice job, their pretty cool. Here is one you could make.A 50 Cal. bottle cap & wine cork remover :)001.JPG002.JPG
