Stupid snow!

I hear you and feel your pain all too well. I had my best year ever here and it is really tough winding down from that detecting high. The winter is way too long here in SW Montana. The Northern States are all pretty quiet this time of year.

I'm not going to give up yet though, if I can get the time, I have a few old dumps that I have been able to sift through, as long as I can break through the frozen top layer, underneath is always easy digging. If anything good turns up, i'll post it here. WINTER WILL NOT DEFEAT ME!!!!

Where does the white go when the snow melts?

Lol! I remember when a few freinds of mine moved here from Florida, they had never seen snow up close before, and stayed up till 4 in the morning just watching the snow come down. Another time, when I worked at a coffee shop, a couple from Florida came through Montana in july, and there was still a little snow in the mountains. The wife told me her husband wanted to ask me about the "white" stuff on top of the mountain", so I said "What would you like to know?". He asked : "What is it?" at first I thought he was joking, but then I could see by the look on his face he was serious, so I said, "It's sand." He got REALLY excited and starts telling me about how he wants to go "up there" and get some to take home with him! I had to tell him I was joking and that it was just snow! It was pretty funny, but he seemed really disappointed that it was snow and not sand!
So, seeing that you are from Florida, and asking that question, don't take offense to this question, but, are you serious? lol!

It kinda goes along with the question, Where does the hard go when the ice melts?

Additionally, why do we drive on a parkway and park on a driveway. (all great questions when you are frozen in)

BTW, it's 81F this afternoon- and Florida is full. No more room. Slap full up. Packed. Crowded...

We're getting our first snow tonight.....6-9". It sort of shuts all things down except stupid drivers.
I feel your "pain", I lived in Hokah Minnesota for about 6 months, and moved back here. I definitely remember the stupid drivers when I was there! LOL!

Ha! I like that! Here, when people show an interest in moving here, we tell them it gets like -40 deg. ALL winter and there is a bear behind every tree waiting to eat you! BTW, this afternoon it is 19F. Not -40F, but its still not fun to be out in, especially with the wind! LOL!

Got my elk back from the taxidermist, been too busy at work to go look for other treasure, maybe Saturday. ......
