Howdy -

No replies - why don't you try posting in the "Metal Detector Forum" above - there is a subtitled "Other Brands" section.

At the risk of pointing out the obvious, have you tried a local detector dealer who also performs repairs?

Good luck to all,

Trying to find an old coil cable for a Koin King or someone with the knowledge on how to rewire as I have both connection ends! Thank you
It seems that if you have both ends, I don't think you can go wrong with wiring pin for pin. I.e., pin-1 to pin-1, pin-2 to pin-2...etc. If the detector requires shielded cable (I think most do), you will have to open up the detector control box and look at which pin of the connecter is wired to ground.

The Koin King is a BFO design so the cable is just a simple coax with a center conductor and a shield. However, it was a coiled cable that went inside the coil shaft. You can probably get away without a coiled cable, just make it long enough for when the shaft is extended, and when the shaft is collapsed the cable will do its best to bunch up inside. Make sure the coax has a stranded wire center conductor so that its very flexible. You might also get away with cutting the cable off a pair of headphones, that way you get a coiled cable. It likely won't be coax but that's OK, just pick two of the conductors and wire them up.
