We found this 6 lb cannon on our property we purchased. The story we know is the previous owners son was dredging in the Pacific north west looking and working on a pipeline when he came across this cannon and brought it to his parents property. It is not in great condition but from the research we have been able to do has some history to it and could have been used in the time period of the American war of independence. I am interested in selling this piece of history to someone who would appreciate it and hopefully restore it as much as it could be done but have no idea what it could be worth. I just don't want to be that person that sells something for $1 and they go around and sell at an auction for $$$. Any help would be appreciated.

Finding out how it came to be here in the Pacific NW has got to be a great story in and of itself. That's a big chunk of iron to haul close to 3000 miles.
