So I am at the super market and decide to check out the coinstar. Well I Find some clad under the machine then I start to notice all these bags and tins cans in the garbage next to it with all this change in it. so I meticulously start to go thru it sorting the good bad and the ugly and man I just kept finding coins. I was hoping to get a little more silver out of all those dimes but whose complaining!! Nice 1955 silver dime and a couple of wheaties! I havent even looked thru all the other stuff yet.

OH Sweet..I found a Merc. in one before..now i purposly find reasons to go the store..check it on my way in and out

I found a 1/2 carat LOOSE DIAMOND in the bottom tray a year ago........ Got home and tested it and sure enough (REAL) I love stupid people.........

sweet finds! I usually find them empty but did find a dime & penny yesterday and a euro cent a few weeks ago. I've had more luck around the bottom of the machines than in the coin bin--People drop change and don't pick it up for some reason?

...Is that an 1867 Canadian dime I can see?

White gold/Diamond earring once....took about 10 mins and alot of weird looks to get it out. Had an employee of the store come over and ask what i was doing......said it was my wifes......fun times.

Probably was an older lady cashing in her change she's collected over the years because she can't afford to live on what she makes and reaches in to get the casts offs and caught her ring underneath unbeknown to her looses her diamond. :( Stupid I don't know :'(

1867 -1967 --100 year canadain comm dime -- might be 80% or at least 50% silver

Sweet, I look and never find, but at T givin I was with the wife at her parents in Punta Gorda and looked in the reject tray, thats right... nothing. I did see 2 coins looking up, a Bahamian quarter, cool... and a 1967 Canadian quarter... 50 pct I think...

Your absolutely right on! there! they even tend to throw the rejects under the machine once I found 2 silver dimes and another silver coin. they get a little sticky
I highly recomend you check the containers and the waste container close to the machine thats been loaded with loose coins check out my other post.

I walked by one this morning and there were some coins in the tray, but I was a chicken. Seems like I am stealing or something. :icon_scratch: Should have just grabbed em and ran. :laughing7:

what?--- if they were just laying on the ground in the parking lot wouldn't you snag em?-- same basic ideal --they are just setting there "abandoned" waiting for whoever reaches out and takes em -- now git back there and snag dem coins! soldier.

Yeah you right. :laughing7: Guess I should have snagged em up. Was enough at least for some Now and Laters!! :laughing7:

rule #1 always take any "free" money when its offered be it change in coinstar machines -- coins dropped on the ground --scrap aluminum cans -- hell its all "free' money --buy a lotto ticket -- at no cost out of pocket to you via this "free money" --- win and you will get even more free money -- or you can buy nice collector grade silver coins or other goodies for "free" -- hustle, hustle.hustle

I work at a grocery store that we partner with the coinstar to cash our coin in for vending and such, we also clean in and such. This weeks vending brought me a 1935 S silver quarter, a 1942 merc, a 1964 rosie, a steel penny,2003 canadian mens hockey quarter, 2007 canadian penny, 2x 2 euro cent, 1973 nederland cent, 1967 singapore cent, 1975 cinco centavos, and a 10k gold ear ring with opal and diamond settings.
