🥇 Banner finds
1
Detector(s) used
Deus, Deus 2, Minelab 3030, E-Trac,
Primary Interest:
Relic Hunting
Went on a road trip today to get some detecting in.
About 60 miles across country to the permissions.
6 sites were planted in winter wheat.
2 sites in a 1 foot plow, and 1 site partially cropped.

So first target after 30 minutes 1867-1967 penny
20231105_084444.jpg

I said that needs to a 100 yrs older.
1.5 hrs later the next target I finally justified in taking a photo.
A saw nut

I got tired of plow row detecting so I went on a corn stubble field, found what was a big ash layer down 6" and over a large foot print.
Probably a barn that burnt down.
So between the saw nut and this buckle was another 2 hrs.
I was thinking this is a hard day for no really good keepers.

Few minutes later this item, a tie pin of sorts?

Then a button
20231105_132115.jpg

Crushed thimble
20231105_125148.jpg

The next one I thought it only takes one to make a hunt.
Beautiful bell
20231105_134231.jpg

Little did I know that 10 minutes later life would so great!
Solid 80 on the Deus ll
I thought gee a coin would be nice.
Dug the plug saw the edge-and for next few minutes I just looked at it and said NO WAY!
I looked away looked down and said it again No Way.
I must of repeated this 10 times.

Full Sovereign - weight
7.9 grams, 22.05mm in
diameter with a Fine
Gold content 7.32
grams.

150 yrs of being rolled around in the field.
She's only been kissed on the cheek.
I'm too excited, too tired to clean anything up.
But will tomorrow and post the other stuff.
Perfect day!.

Very, Very Happy for you Man!!! Huge find!

Wonder if it's part of a cache?
Thanks
I thought that yesterday with a fleeting thought "I wonder if there's more"?
In that spot it was pretty quiet for any signals.
We can always wish though.

It’s amazing
Congratulations on your masterpiece

Congratulations on a fantastic hunt with a golden lining. After almost 21 years I am still looking for my gold coin. She is beautiful and we don't see many sovereigns posted here. In my opinion that is definitely a banner find. I really hope you get enough votes to make the banner.

Stay safe, good luck and keep swingin. Maybe you’ll find another one soon. Good things do come in groups sometimes.
if it doesnt make the cut as a banner find we need to hold an uprising

I dunno how you contained yourself long enough to pull out a phone and get pics before popping that plug. No way I would have been able to wait.

WOW!! What a great pic in the clump- I would've been going out of my mind praying it was indeed a gold coin and not a "gotcha". I've been at it for 33 years, never got one or seen one found, so it remains at the top of my bucket list.
My banner vote is in and Major CONGRATS for that lifetime find!!

Thank you both for the reply
Jeff even though I found my first gold in 2013 my avatar 50BC Celtic full Stator.
This is a first for me on this side of the pond and just as exciting.

Now for the excitement and containing myself Tpmetal-it was actually really easy-because it took me 9 minutes of time from these 2 photos. and was probably due to the fact I had to get through all the NO WAY! (out loud)
Here's the time stamp
