Well what can I say another gorgeous day out in the spring sunshine, less windy today, the hawthorn hedges smelt amazing ahh so very happy to be out digging … I even caught myself being nice to himself at lunch 😳 xx

so first off my stunning find….. don’t know anything about it don’t think it’s a button as about an inch across and made of lead 🤔 was chuffed to bits as we have found very little in this area previously… then a little hanger thingy, couple of buckle bits, pot leg, broken ring, lovely lead roll, then a bag seal, buttons, my crusty Roman also first one found in this bit of field, and ta da… a stunning 1943 2 shilling piece….

Now to eat, sleep and repeat tomorrow 😎 xx

The ancient relics.
The more recent ones.
Obligatory lead fortune...
The hopes of a not quite old yet Blossom herself.
The almost intoxicatingly scented perennial hope of new blossoms...
The know pilgrimage distance and evidence of a wandering pair of modern day pilgrims.
Evidence of a long ago but unknown distanced pilgrim.

Quite a hunt! Congrats!
Himself encouraged on your part. Tomorrow may be bright yet again.
Ever reluctant to pick favorites of finds...The view of fields in the sites self might be the winner today...

You make me want to hop a flight to the UK to search those fields with every post! You both find the most awesome things.
I honestly wish u could all come over and play with us… words dont do justice to the sights … today a Red Kite was hovering over me, if i had been quicker with my phone the shadow as it swooped down an away was quite magical… and yesterday as we sat in the truck at lunch with the doors open a Kestrel landed on my open door…. Its was only there for a second but holy cow…. It was quite surreal 😍 xx

Little update on the Bag Seal….

Cross on shield Baltic states bale flax seal, unreadable number of pellets in quarters . The quality grade is 9 or 12 K (kron). The grower/owner/agent initials are W.B. 😆 xx
