I didn't find it today but it was fairly recently that I detected this rare silver half dime. I was using my new omega 8000 for only the second time in a very hard hunted colonial site on the coast of south carolina, when this awsome coin popped up. I've been offered quite a bit for it but I've wanted to dig a coin like this for 20 yrs and finally got lucky and did. ;D I'm not planing on selling it any time soon, I just want to enjoy my find. Several guys on the best finds forum asked me to please post it here hoping it would make the recent discoveries bar at the top of the page. I hope you folks don't mind.

I've never seen a silver coin of that age come out of the ground
looking that clean before and in such nice condition too. :icon_scratch:

That has to be the most incredible looking dug coin i have seen ,funny i was just looking at those on the PCGS site the other day they had one MS65 + valued at over 50,000 Nice find  Dd60

Unbefreakinlievable Man !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm speechless - the condition is unheard of !!! Argentium.

You have to appreciate the sandy soil conditions.. They will preserve a coin like this one was. Its amazing

I also nominate banner! :headbang:
Went to the outerbanks and was hoping to find something like that but the fishing was to good, didn't even break out the detector.

:-X ::)

Sweet coin!

I'm skeptical though.
But that's my nature.
Maybe it was recently dropped when you discovered it.
None the less, like I mentioned before, it's a sweet coin

Skeptical? Of what? I assure you the find I made is 110 % genuine and authentic. Nothing newer than a few shotgun shell hulls ever came out that little pasture.Lots of flat buttons & colonial relics and even some confederate stuff was dug there over the years but that's it.I'm just a relic hunter who made a rare find, no need to be skeptical on my mothers grave it's genuine.

That's all I gotta hear, congrats buddy! Thats a dream find! I love early American coins, and that one is untouchable!

That needs to be on the banner. That is the find of a lifetime.
My Bust half came out of the ground looking like it had just
been lost. I will trade you if you want.
Is this the best hobby in the world or what?

Its a once in a lifetime coin if I have ever seen one and I vote banner. Congrats again bud!
