Now that the tornado sirens have died down, I managed to crawl out of my basement and snake my way through all the fallen trees to the nail road. Managed just one good target among many nails, but she was a good one.

If only there were a way to get the two small bits of corrosion off her, she'd be a pretty coin.

If you're going to find just one good target, might as well be a beauty like that Indian- one year away from the key and in spectacular shape!
I'm not advocating cleaning, especially on something that nice, but I remove crud like that on Indians by putting them in boiling hydrogen peroxide for 10-15 minutes, then using either a toothpick dipped in olive oil or a Q-tip in same and a gentle scrubbing- works well for me. GL!

I've never tried boiling HP...I might give it try...

I have never hear of that, does it take the Patina off ?
