Had a good day today, old quarters hardly ever show up. I learned the governor of Colorado at one time was this guy named Peobody who lived down the hill in Canon City. The miners were not happy with wages and hours and anytime they acted up Peobody would send in the National Guard. He would terrorize the minors and was for the mine owners. Definitely not liked by the majority of the people. When he ran for governor again the opposition made the slogan I found. Glad I found it, I had another one that was half burned. The rusty piece is from a coin bank. Happy Hunting, I love the spring!!

Funny story, so I get home and can't find the Peobody piece and I remember putting it my pocket. I looked it up and it's somewhat valuable. I freak out look through everything go back to the site 2 more times search everywhere and give up with that kind of sick feeling. Go to get into bed and take off my shoes, yep in my shoe:)

That's some great old late 19thC turn of the 20th century relics there. Especially that old cast iron bank.

PLUS the Gitchie, gitchie, ya-ya, da-da (da-da-da)
Gitchie, gitchie, ya-ya, here (ooh, yeah, yeah)
Mocha Chocolata, ya-ya (yeah, yeah)

That's a real good hunt with the Peabody pin recovery and Barber.
What's the coin between the doll and the button?

Nice recoveries on the bottles, doll, and the bank also.

I couldn't tell right away, because it looks gold. It's a pretty pitted up Indian head.

Thanks appreciate it, it took forever to find a date on that Indian head. 1890. The bottles were sticking out of the side of the site!!

I put it in the pickle pot to get the crust off.
I'd grabbing a probe and scratcher and looking for more bottles for sure.

Pickle pot for cooking the crust off-that's different.

Thanks Etrack, getting outside is half the battle. Super windy here lately. Blew my little trailer across the road!!
So that blast a couple days ago was down your way also. I was getting notifications on my phone from Xcell saying they were gonna cut the power for about 8 hours in various areas because of the forecasted winds. I guess they don't want to get blamed anymore for being the cause of any wildfires.

That was a crazy wind, I'm sure glad no fires got out of control. That would have been scary!

Thank you, I never have heard of those, how awesome!!! Love learning!!!!
I just looked at my collection of 100+ Crotal bells and I don't even have one of these types.
So congrats on getting the less common "Classic Saddle" type bell.
