I detected for two days around an old well & foundation of a shed or barn, I ended up with a truck bed full
of relics, horse shoe, mule shoe, saw blade, many broken plow points', stove parts, stove leg, etc...........
There were pieces of 'single trees', file, sledge hammer head,(the nails were still in it from tightning the handle), but no
wood was left, just dirt.
Now I hope the price of scrap goes up. :tongue3:

That is a 'good idea', i'll pick out the 'most historical' to save.
I still have a couple more trips before I finish there. ;D

Cleaning all that off a site is hard work, but there are usually goodies to be found. Heck, there are sometimes even Iron goodies to be found.

Keep up the good work. :)

dang I am tired just looking at your stuff, I can't imagine the digging. If thats the big stuff I can imagine how the detector sounded on the ground hitting on all the little iron that had to be around. Sheesh, but I gotta say I would love to bring stuff like that home with me, but hubby would disown me for sure.

I just got on 'a roll' for a few days, nobody around but me, very relaxing.
There was surprisingly not much 'small iron', just large pieces of tin.
