2007 was my first full year of detecting. I'm swinging a Whites MXT and use a 3x5 coil for trashy areas and a 6 X 10 for normal searching. First great find was a beautiful white gold ladies ring with a large topaz setting and several diamond chips surrounding it. It was in a socker field about 4" down. Of course along the way there was lots of clad a few wheaties and some silver. The year ended with a total of 14 rings. Two were large mens 14K gold bands (found on beaches), the ladies gold I mentioned earlier and 11 siver rings, two with settings. My faviorite hunting spots are the athletic fields, parks, picnic areas and beaches. Hope I bump into one or two of you on the hunt this year. Good hunting to all of you.
