I cant even begin to express how happy I am to have saved this coin. It was obviously a huge bucket lister for me, as it is for a lot of people, but to be able to find one in such good condition is just unbelievable. Not only is there so much history behind these coins but they also happen to be one of my favorite designs! All I can say is thank God for sandy soil!

What a beautiful piece! It is a Crosby 3-B which is a rarity 2 variety, between 501 and 1250 estimated to exist. While this is the most common of the 1785 varieties, yours appears to be a very early die state, there is usually a die break in the wreath of the reverse which I don't see. Very nice!
Thank you so much I’m glad you enjoyed! And thank you so much for that bit of info, that’s really interesting to know!

Wow, what a gorgeous coin! Congratulations and thanks for sharing it with us.

That is probably the nicest example I have seen posted here. You sure know how to find good stuff daily.
My posts the past week have been some highlights as I’m new to posting here(which is why some were removed lol) this was fairly recent though!

It is a beautiful coin. Todays finds mean what it says. "Today's Finds'. Not " Fairly Recent Finds",lol I know you are new and we appreciate seeing your fairly recent finds.
What I do when posting and I have some from late last year is I will just say found in November or what ever.
The reason for this is people would go into their collections and they would all end up in Todays finds.
I hope you understand. Keep sharing I read all your post you find some great stuff.

Please tell us what state you dug these coins thanks in advance ,, and you are so fortunate that the soil was extremely kind to your copper.

Today's finds are for very recent finds made in the last couple of days, unless finds were found in the last few days please post them in the "Metal Detecting" forum.

Holy crap cracker! That's quality right there! I've seen a few of those found recently on here, but that is the finest I've seen. Congrats!!

What a beauty, certainly deserved to be up on the banner.😒 Congratulations 🎊

That is incredible! Never seen such detail on a dug one before! Well done! That is a BANNER find for sure!
