Cast and machined golf ball mortars for sale. These use a 60 grain charge of powder and are fired by a fuse launching a golf ball approximatly 500 feet on a 45 degree trajectory. The Mortar is a 1:5 scale reproduction done in beautiful bronze. They can be left bronze colored or aged. Price is $400

Years back we made golf ball mortars by putting a fence post in a coffee can, filling the can with concrete,
after curing , you just dropped a lit cherry bomb down the tube followed by a golf ball. I know for sure they
went much farther than 500 feet easy. And a lot cheaper than 400 bucks.

500 feet is what we aim for, beyond that you begin to lose the golf ball. These mortars could easily fire a golf ball 500 yards most likely but what fun is that? And its much safer to use a correct ammount of powder.

As for wheels being mortars, they typically did not have wheels. The mortars I am making are different than the one picture in that they are almost double the weight, have center mounted truniuns, and are situated on better carriages or a swivel mount for a sailboat winch.
