Near Rio Verde, Arizona (Northern Scottsdale) I was told about and visited an old airfield from WWII. The area shows signs of people, but there's no evidence that anyone has quite connected the dots (long flat surface...airfield?). It spans about 1300 feet long and 200+ feet wide. Grass has just now begun to grow back and no bushes have sprung up. In my limited experience detecting the area, I found bullets, casings, shotgun shells and a brass collar pin (for uniforms). Very good sight!

Do any fellow detectors live in Arizona?

Hey Dawg,

I am in Glendale and would love to check out a WWII site. Do you have coordinates or a name of the airfield?

No, but you can pm me and I can either give you directions or we could meet. I have been unable to find the name of the airfield. I just know it was used in WWII and my friend has said its an airfield.
