Several authors have covered this one.
The authors were Penfield, Terry and Jameson. Hope you enjoy the story.

Very cool story.

I really wasn't expecting to see a big fish posted as a reply. In time I will get all of this one up. I will include some interesting stories of gold recoveries along the river in the region found in local historical records.

very cool story, since it looks like almost all park areas there, it would have to be hand work to recover it

BTW, the fish is in his signature line, not as a reply

Interesting, but the rendesvous were held in June when the water is high. Also Brown's Hole is on the Green, not the Snake. The only really serious canyon stretches of the Snake are from Idaho Falls to Conant Valley, and from Alpine Wyoming to the mouth of
Hoback River. Both of those canyon stretches were heavily prospected back in the old days. Even the benches were mined. Lots of flour gold, but few nuggets. The canyon of the Green is covered by Flaming Gorge Reservoir, sadly.

It reads as fiction. Several claims in the article don't hold up to even casual thought.

I want to make sure you realize what has been posted is from previous authors. Keep following.

Moving on with what has previously been out there, we didn't get to mine yet.
