I got an invite to hunt in a yard where a house from 1925 still stood. I was hoping for a few silver coins to show up but none did. I dug several wheat backs and some modern pennies. While in the backyard I got a iffy signal that sounded like a bottle cap at 5" I figured what the heck I'll dig it up and get it out of the way. Well, it wasn't a bottle cap but a really nice gold wedding band. I later contacted the owner who had recently bought the property and we were able to find the previous occupant and it was her ring that she lost back in 1994. This lady is in her 90s and was very glad to get it back. It made my day to find it and hers to get it back on her hand.

Awesome! Honorable Mention for sure. Sub 8-)

Now that right there is just awesome! Great story and it was very kind of you to return the ring.

nicely done...digging "bottle caps" can often be a pleasant and honorable surprise!

Great return! You may want to check your settings on your detector. No way that should have been an iffy sound!

By returning the ring to the rightful owner you will be blessed with many more treasures of your own in the near future. That's just how it goes!!

Excellent! We all love a good return!

Got an up date and a thank you from the family! The ring was given in 1944 and was lost while she was doing yard work in 1994. So, she had the ring for 50 years lost it for 22 years and now is back in her possession. She's 91 and living in an assisted living facility in Americus Georgia. The family showed her a picture of the ring and she nailed it of where she thought she lost it. (Backyard near the flower bed) <- exactly where I found it! I've returned a few rings and things in my time but, this one is likely the best.8-)

Love this story,it warms my heart. Kudos to you.

Happy Ending! I am proud of you my friend! What a kind Gesture to find and give back to make her day! ....This is one of the many reasons I enjoy hunting with you!
