Found on a river near known Indian mounds I was hoping copper culture probably wishful thinking any thoughts. Update after sending out a few emails to people dealing in bronze artifacts I may have a lead I'll post the email

That is pretty interesting looking. Doesn't appear to have been broken on the open end?

That is an oddity. I don't know if any copper culture artifacts were ever that detailed and complex.?? Defiantly interesting. I think I'd be emailing Scott Wolter and tell him I think I've got something on your ancient Minoan theory

I thought it was broken at first too but it's not. The posts are bent in opposite directions from twisting something

Does this Indian mound have a name?

Not to my knowledge from what I read it was several mounds moved or torn down for development. I don't know if it's Native American but it was my first thought because of where I found it

Looks like a prototype for an early cork screw. Okay, I know that's dumb but I got nothin else. I hope someone comes up with your answer though. Very nice find.

First off it's definitely not copper culture because it's to detailed and the standard heavy verdigris is absent as to what it is your guess is as good as mine.

Agreed... IMO the ends are intact.
