You've managed a variety of nice recoveries over the years. I'd have to blow it up to be sure, but the 1 Yen coin in #67 looks to be a 1985.

Among other tokens, I've found Chuck E. Cheeses ranging from 1986 to 2013. I'm waiting for someone to assemble a full run, lol.

VP, so you just hit the stores with a coin star and check for rejects, or do you also run the machine to see if it spits out something?

Thx, Steve

If I see a CoinStar - I walk buy and look into the Reject Bin. I never go out of my way to hit a CoinStar. Finding coins is like winning a jackpot!!!!!

VPNavy,

Congrats on your 79th recovery. I like the way you have kept a log of your finds over the years. I noticed that you haven’t found any silver, though you may have and I missed it when scanning your log. I find that interesting as I have seen other posters finding silver and other amazing items just about every outing. Guess you just don’t live in one of those lucky places. I am like you, I look but have never hit the silver jackpot. Same with my coin roll hunting of .50 pieces. While I may get lucky and find a couple of 40% and on the rare occasion a 90%, I have yet to hit a box with 10 or more like I see some folks do on a consistent basis. Guess my location, like yours, just isn’t lucky. Good luck with your hunts. Walt

Thanks for the kind words Walt. Yuppa ? no silver yet. The two grocery stores we patronize - (that have a CoinStar) - are always full of old farts like myself! :) Maybe no silver because we understand the value of silver coins? I am waiting for the day some young puppy comes in with a stash of coins he got from Grandma and ignores the reject hopper! 😊

There was at least one silver (a 1960 Rosie early on), but I recognize my own more typical finds from the list (Chuck E. Cheese tokens, clad foreign coins, and plastic play money). And the majority of my searches are flat-out skunks. With the silver, I've done better than some and not nearly as well as others.

Forrest Gump might have said, "Life is like a Coinstar. You never know what you're gonna get."
