I found this cast iron piece at an 1800’s home site. I’ve got a nagging suspicion I know what it is, but I just can’t think of it. Does anyone know? It’s ornate, with scrolls designs on both sides. It’s about maybe eight inches long — I didn’t measure but it’s about that.

It is part of a Victorian cast iron oil lamp sconce.
Thanks! I think that's it. Here's an online image I found -- different scroll work than mine, but I can definitely see the resemblance, and that mine pictured upside down, and is broken off at the bottom. (This isn't yet obvious in person -- I'll de-rust it a bit and see later).
