I acquired a mahogany ogee mirror ca 1870. I always like to remove the wood backs of these things because you never know what you might find. In this case, there were a couple of cool old cardboard advertising posters. I think they date to about 1938. Does anyone know where the address is Hoffman above Washington? I am thinking it is NYC?? Thanks for confirming NYC and 1938! I hadn't thought about the fact that the street names had changed. Makes complete sense now. I had found Hoffman and Washington in NYC, but couldn't make sense of the description. It stands to reason that the glass was replaced in NYC in 1938 and was backed with the cardboard. I know the mirror frame dates to 1870. Based on the style and the NYC clue, can anyone hazard a guess where it was produced? I know there are several members who are really good with antiques. Here's the front.DSC_0049.JPG
