I found a 2 Euro coin, 2002 with D Mint Mark metal detecting the other day, and I see that some are selling for over $5000 with NO imperfections, and the one I found is in better shape, but has the brownish discoloration on both sides. Where can I find out how much it is really worth?

Is it the German 2002 D 2 Euro? They don't have anything close to that value, sold pieces on ebay are around $2. When you say they are selling for over $5000, are they actually selling or is that an asking price? You'll see all kinds of wild crazy asking prices but that doesn't mean they are actually selling.

Right on that. There is a grifter here in central Texas listing various Euro coins for 100-200 times value. Me, I just let them accumulate and give them to nephews when I visit.

Time for more coffee.

Yes, it is the German 2002 D 2 Euro. I can't say that any have sold for those prices, as I have just seen them asking those prices. I agree..., it seems to just be people asking crazy prices and hoping someone takes the bait. Thank you for your reply.
